Ian and Cath McNeill
Ian and Cath are the proud owners of this family-run establishment, with homely bed and breakfast accommodation, a relaxed restaurant serving fresh cooked food and a cosy bar providing real ales and fine wines  . It is the very definition of a traditional Welsh Inn, boasting character and a warm, friendly environment.

This thirteenth century building has been a pub for all of 800 years of its existence, and it is as steeped in history as is the village in which it is situated. Close to Llangollen, Pontfadog is one of several small villages along the enchanting Ceiriog Valley which was once described by Lloyd George as 'a little piece of heaven on earth'. You need only to step outside the front door to understand the sentiment. The main village of Glyn Ceiriog is just two miles away.

The Swan Inn is directly opposite the River Ceiriog, the fastest running river in Wales. The River Ceiriog runs for approximately 11 miles. The source of the river is near the Ceiriog falls and runs through a number of small enchanting villages, including the main village of Glyn Ceiriog, and terminates where it joins the River Dees across the boarder. You can hear the gentle noise of its flow from the relaxing bed and breakfast accommodation. You can't help but fall in love with the idyllic nature of the valley, whether you choose to explore the picturesque countryside, fish in the river, enjoy the wide range of local attractions and activities, or simply relax with a pint of real ale or a glass of fine wine, and enjoy the scenery. The Inn benefits from its secluded location, yet its closeness to the facilities of Llangollen which is only three miles away.

One of the oldest buildings in the valley, The Swan Inn has been refurbished sympathetically towards the original fixtures, fittings and features, many of which are visible throughout the building. With a restaurant boasting a bounty of local produce, fine wines and real ales, and bed and breakfast accommodation giving views over the River Ceiriog, the Swan Inn is a true slice of Wales waiting to be discovered and savoured.

The Swan Inn has featured on TV on several occasions. Most recently Ian and Cathy featured in a bed and breakfast accommodation programme called  'Four in a Bed', produced by Channel 4.
