This thirteenth century building has been a pub for all of 800 years of its existence, and it is as steeped in history as is the village in which it is situated. Close to Llangollen, Pontfadog is one of several small villages along the enchanting Ceiriog Valley which was once described by Lloyd George as 'a little piece of heaven on earth'. You need only to step outside the front door to understand the sentiment. The main village of Glyn Ceiriog is just two miles away.
The Swan Inn is directly opposite the River Ceiriog, the fastest running river in Wales. The River Ceiriog runs for approximately 11 miles. The source of the river is near the Ceiriog falls and runs through a number of small enchanting villages, including the main village of Glyn Ceiriog, and terminates where it joins the River Dees across the boarder.
